المستخلص: هذه الدراسة تهدف إلى إبراز أهمية العنوان، والدور الفعال الذي يلعبه في فك شفرات ورموز النص، وكذا الوظيفة المنوطة به، والمتمثلة في اختزال واختصار مجريات وأحداث المتن الروائي، ضف إلى ذلك السلطة التي يمارسها على القارئ منذ الوهلة الأولى، مزيلاً عنه الضبابية ومساعداً له في الولوج إلى عالم النص، مزوداً إياه بأدوات إجرائية وقرائن دلالية تفتق المعاني الكامنة داخل المتن الروائي وقد اخترنا رواية "الخيل تموت واقفة" أو ما تبقى من ذاكرة قير للراوي عبدالقادر بن سالم لما يتضمنه العنوان من دلالات ورموز، ولا تتكشف هذه الأخيرة إلا بعد اصطدام القارئ بشخصيات أبطال الرواية التي لا تعرف معنى الاستسلام والهزيمة، فهي شخصيات مناضلة ومكافحة إلى آخر رمق من الحياة، حق للراوي أن يصفها بأوصاف الخيل العربية الحرة الأصيلة.

The present work tries to clarify the importance of the title in the novel and the crucial role it plays in deciphering and interpreting the symbolism in the text. It also aims to showing that the title has an occupation symbolized both in narrowing down and summarizing the sequencing of the event in the novel. Moreover, it is a guiding path for the reader at an early age before his direct contact with the text, the title clears the ambiguity for the reader both through facilitating his understanding of the text, and via giving the reader hints about the structure and the different thoughts and ideas embodied in the text. Hereafter, we have chosen a novel entitled “horses die standing “the latter that speaks about what is left from Guir memory the work is done by the Algerian novelist Abd-el-Kader Bensalem. The title of the novel encompasses significant and symbols which are not easy for the reader to deduce without knowing and understanding the attitudes of the characters in the novel, horse characters do not believe in surrender or loss, they believe in struggle and activism till the end however. It is therefore the author’s right to modify them) the characters (as free pure Arabian horses.
