يتناول هذا البحث قضايا البلاد العربية المعاصرة في مرحلة ما بعد الحرب العالمية الثانية 1945-1958، وموقف أعضاء مجلس النواب العراقي منها. إذ شهدت الجلسات النيابية أثناء تلك المدة مناقشات مستفيضة تناولت أوضاع تلك البلدان العربية وقضاياهم وسياسة الدول الاستعمارية فيها فضلا عن أوضاع العراق الداخلية وعلاقاته الخارجية مع تلك البلدان. إذ حظيت قضايا حركات التحرر الوطني للعرب والتخلص من الهيمنة الاستعمارية باهتمام كبير في مناقشات مجلس النواب العراقي الذي شهد مواقف وآراء ديمقراطية وشجاعة من لدن النواب اللذين أعلنوا تضامنهم مع القضايا القومية للبلاد العربية من أجل نيل حريتهم واستقلالهم واستنكارهم لما يحدث في تلك البلدان العربية من سياسة تعسفية واعتداءات أجنبية. ومهما يكن من أمر، فإن النواب العراقيين كانت لهم مداخلات وتعقيبات على القضايا العربية المعاصرة. فأوردوا كثيرا من الملاحظات والمقترحات للحكومة العراقية وأحرجوا المسؤولين بتساؤلاتهم وأعلنوا في الوقت نفسه عن مساندتهم ودعمهم للبلاد العربية بشأن تقرير مصيرهم.
This study tackles the important issues of Arab countries in the post-second world war (1945-1958) and the stances of Iraqi parliament members towards them. During that period, the parliamentary sessions witnesses deep discussions on the conditions and issues of those Arab countries and the policies of imperialistic states in addition to the internal situations of Iraq and its external relations with those countries. The parliamentary sessions paid more attention to the issues of the moves of the national liberation of the Arabs and the dismissal of the imperialistic domination. The Iraqi Parliament members, at that time, expressed democratic and brave stances and opinions. They declared their solidarity with the national issues of Arab countries with the aim of achieving their freedom and independence. The parliament members also expressed denunciation, at the same time, against the arbitrary policy and foreign assaults in these Arab countries. However, the Iraqi Parliament members expressed their opinions on the important Arab issues. They made many remarks and proposals and submitted them to the Iraqi government. Their questions made Iraqi officials feel embarrassed. They also expressed support for the Arab countries regarding their self-determination.
