The main objective of this article is to identify aspects of the Algerian currency market through a qualitative study based on a field survey of the formal and informal operators in the municipality of Bejaia. The results of our study show that bank regulation of the formal currency market seems to be unable to meet the demand of economic agents for financing. This increased shortfall is proving to be the main reason for economic agents to move towards the informal market of the currency, allowing them to fill their demands that the official network has not been able to satisfy. L'objectif principal de cet article est de cerner les principaux aspects du marché algérien de la devise à travers une étude qualitative basée sur une enquête de terrain auprès des opérateurs formels et informels de la commune de Bejaia. Les résultats de notre étude montrent que la réglementation bancaire du marché formel de la devise semble ne pas être en adéquation avec la demande des agents économiques en matière de financement. Cette insuffisance accrue s'avère être le déterminant principal qui pousse les agents économiques à s'orienter vers le marché informel de la devise, leur permettant ainsi de combler leurs demandes auxquelles le réseau officiel n’a pas été capable de satisfaire. |
