المستخلص: شهد مجال علم الأثار تطورا ملموسا خاصة في شقه التقني، فأصبحت الغاية المرجوة من علم الأثار لا تكمن فقط في البحث والكشف عن الكنوز المدفونة، بل تتعدى ذلك إلى إبراز ما تحمله هذه الأخيرة من قيم مادية وجمالية، وهو ما جعل هذا التخصص يخرج من هذا الحيز العلمي البسيط ليتوسع أكثر في أهدافه ونتائجه، ومن أهم الأدوات التقنية التي يرتكز عليها علم الأثار، نشير إلى تخصص الصيانة والترميم الذي تطور بدوره من مجرد ممارسة لا تستند لضوابط يقوم بها بعض المهتمين بالتراث المادي، إلى علم قائم بذاته تحكمه مبادى ويشرف عليه أثريون مختصون متكونين في هذا المجال، أما بالنسبة لأهمية الصيانة والترميم فيمكن حصرها في أهمية التراث الأثري ودوره البارز في دفع الحركة الاقتصادية لعديد الدول بفضل الاستقطاب السياحي، وهو ما جعل الأثريين يركزون على مجال الصيانة والترميم للتعامل الصحيح مع خصوصية المواد الأثرية التي جسد عليها الإنسان في الماضي فنونه أو حتى معتقداته الدينية وحتى مساكنه التي شيدها بمواد بسيطة، وبتقنيات تشهد على الزمان والمكان وتخفي في تفاصيلها وتصميم فضاءاتها علاقة ذلك الإنسان ببيئته ومحيطه.

The field of archeology has experienced a tangible development, in particular in the technical apartment, so that the desired objective of archeology does not only lie in the search and exploration of buried treasures, but goes further. beyond to highlight the material and aesthetic values of the latter, which brought this specialization out of this space. Simple scientist to further expand his objectives and results, and among the most important technical tools on which archeology is based, we refer to the specialty of maintenance and restoration, which in turn has gone from a sample practice not based on controls carried out by some interested in material heritage, to an autonomous science governed by principles and supervised by rich specialists composed In this regard, as for the importance of maintenance and restoration, it may be limited to the importance of the archaeological heritage and its leading role in promoting the economic movement of many countries thanks to the tourist attraction, which has led archaeologists to focus on the field of maintenance and restoration to properly treat the confidentiality of archaeological materials that the person has personified in the past, his art or even his religious beliefs and even his habitations, which he built with simple materials, and techniques which testify of time and space and hide in their details and the conception of their spaces the relation of this person with his environment and his environment.
