المستخلص: إن علم المخطوط (الكوديكولوجيا) علم جديد ما زال في طور الإنشاء والتأسيس ومحاولة وضع دراسة تركيبية له تجمع مختلف الآراء والنظريات لم تتبلور بشكلها النهائي لحد الآن، برزت في الآونة الأخيرة أقلام هامة قادته من العتمة إلى النور، على رأسهم الفرنسيان جاك لومير (J. Lemaires) وفرنسوا ديروش (Déroche François) وآدم جاسك (Gacek Adam) التشيكي الأصل والكندي الجنسية، ومن مصر عبد الستار الحلوجي وأيمن فؤاد السيد وفيصل الحفيان، ومن المغرب مدير الخزانة الحسنية أحمد شوقي بنبين وتلميذه الأستاذ الباحث مصطفى الطوبي. لكن تبقى السابقة الهامة والدقيقة تلك الجهود الجماعية المثمرة التي جاءت على عاتق معهد المخطوطات العربية، هذا الأخير يعد من أقدم وأعرق المعاهد السباقة في مجال الاهتمام بالمخطوطات، ترجم غير كتاب في علم المخطوط العربي أو الكوديكولوجيا العربية، وهو حقل معرفي عني به الغربيون منذ منتصف القرن العشرين. كل هذا جعل دافعنا كبيرا لتسليط الضوء على هذا العلم ومعرفة حدوده ومحله من الإعراب في الوطن العربي، فيا ترى ما هي أهم الإسهامات في هذا المجال؟ وهل ما زال هذا العلم حكرا على الباحثين الغربيين؟، وما هي أهم الأسماء العربية التي ساهمت في نهضة هذا العلم؟، وما هي جهود معهد المخطوطات العربي في التعريف بهذا العلم على المستوى المحلي والدولي؟

Codicology is a new science still under construction and creation, and the attempt to make a synthetic study that gathers the different views and theories about it has not been done yet. In the latest period, there emerged some its important leaders and above them the French J .Lemaires, Déroche François and the Polish Gacek Adam and from Egypt Halwagi, Abdul-Sattar, Ayman Fuʾād Sayyid, Fayçal Hafiane and from Morocco Director of Library Hassania Ahmed Chouqui Binebineand Mustafa Tubi. But the important and exact precedent was the collective and fruitful efforts that the Institute of the Arabic Manuscripts in Cairo did. This latter is considered to be one of the oldest institutes that had interest in manuscripts. It translated a book in the science of the Arabic manuscript or the Arabic code ology, and its a knowledge field that the West were interested in the middle of the twentieth century. This latter was considered as a collective book for the Arabic Codeologic Terminology. It is an addition to the Arabic library in this field of knowledge, which is needs more enrichments to grow up. That is why this article comes up to confirm and introduce these efforts that many of our researchers neglect and may be we will encourage an Algerian A grant in this science. All this motivated us to shed light on this science, its limits and place in the Arab world. So what are the most important contributions in this field? And if this science is still Monopolizeby western researchers? What are the important Arab names that contributed in the renaissance of this science? What are the efforts of Arab Manuscripts Institute in defining this science on the national and the International level?
