Manpower planning of teaching staff in private higher education is a research area that has become increasingly important over the past two decades due to competition between private universities and shortage in the number of teaching staff in a developing country like Egypt. In private higher education, teaching staff planning is a dynamic process that affects the efficiency and effectiveness of the institution. The lack of educational resources in the various academic sectors of the private universities was the motivation for this research. This study aims of identify and propose new means for managing the academic resources needed in private higher education. Based on intensive literature review with the intention of selecting the most suitable too to use in understanding and investigating the academic systems under consideration, the prior planning approaches and models were reviewed to identify the current gaps in these models and approaches. These models and approaches from the base for this study. |
