المستخلص: The aim of this modest work is to analyze the stakes and the prospects of a governance approach within Algerian banks, in an unstable international context, marked by the fall of the barrel prices. Such a process supposed to ensure the development of the financial system, in Algeria, to have positive repercussions on the economic development of the country. The study resulted in confirmation of the rule that good banking governance improves economic performance while an inappropriate system deteriorates it. Bank governance has not been at the meeting Algerian banks are unable to meet the challenge of development, particularly in an unfavorable economic context.

Le but de ce modeste travail est d'analyser les enjeux et les perspectives de d'une démarche de gouvernance au sein des banques algériennes, dans un contexte international instable, marqué par la chute des cours du Baril. Un tel processus censé assurer le développement du système financier, en Algérie, pour avoir des répercussions positives sur le développement économique du pays. L'étude a abouti à la confirmation de la règle qui fait qu'une bonne gouvernance bancaire améliore la performance économique tandis qu'un système inapproprié la détériore. La Gouvernance bancaire n'a pas été au rendez-vous. Les banques algériennes sont incapables de relever le défi du développement notamment dans un contexte économique défavorable.
