تناولت هذه الدراسة مشكلة ارتفاع معدل حوادث المرور على طريق ودمدني الخرطوم أبعاد المشكلة والتعرف على أهم المواقع التي تقع فيها السريع بغرض توضيح الحوادث، وتحديد أهم الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى حوادث المرور على هذا الطريق . كما أبرزت الدراسة حجم كثافة السكان والأنشطة الاقتصادية والاجتماعية المنتشرة على جانبي الطريق. كما قامت الدراسة بقياس خطورة حوادث المرور باستخدام عدد من المؤشرات المختلفة المستخدمة عالميا من أجل قياس حجم وشدة مخاطر الحوادث التي تقع على هذا الطريق . توصلت الدراسة إلى أن مؤشرات وقوع الحوادث على طريق ودمدني الخرطوم مرتفع جدا بالمقارنة سع مؤشرات الخطورة لدول أخرى مثل المملكة العربية السعودية والأردن وغيرها من الدول العربية، وهناك قصور في البيانات لإدارة المرور في السودان، حيث إنها لا تتضمن عدد الأشخاص الذين يتوفون في المستشفيات بعد مرور عدة أيام من وقوع الحوادث، فقد توصلت الدراسة إلى أن ما يتم تسجيله في السجلات الرسمية لا يمثل غير 49% من الأعداد الفعلية من المتوفين بسبب الحوادث على هذا الطريق كما توصلت الدراسة إلى تهديد أهم الأسباب التي تؤدي إلى وقوع الحوادث على طريق ودمدني الخرطوم، واقترحت عددا من التوصيات والمقترحات من أجل التخفيف من خطورة الحوادث في منطقة الدراسة ومعالجة الأسباب التي تؤدي إليها.
This study dealt with the problem of the high rate of traffic accidents on the road and the rapid destruction of Wad Madani- Khartoum .In order to clarify the dimensions of the problem and identify the most important sites where accidents occur and identify the most important reasons that lead to traffic accidents on this road. The study also highlighted the size of the population density and the economic and social activities on both sides of the road .The study also estimated the severity of road accidents using a number of different indicators used globally in order to measure the size and severity of the risks of accidents occurring on this road The study found that the indicators of accidents on the road Wad Madani- Khartoum are very high compared to Risk indicators for other countries such as Saudi Arabia, Jordan and other Arab countries. Despite the lack of data in the traffic police administration in Sudan, where there are no people who die in hospitals after several days of accidents, the study found that what is recorded in the official records Less than 49% represents the actual number of deaths due to accidents along this route. The study also identified the most important reasons that lead to accidents on the road Wad Madani- Khartoum and suggested a number of recommendations and proposals in order to mitigate the seriousness of accidents in the study area and address the reasons that lead to it.
