|a يقدم البحث الحقيقة الفعلية حول المشروطية في العربية والإنكليزية. حيث يعرض البحث طريقة ترجمة الجمل المتضمنة للأفعال المساعدة المشروطية (التي لها معنى) بطريقة تنقل المعنى مثل الأفعال الكاملة وشبه الجمل الحرفية والجزيئات الكلامية والأفعال غير المشتقة. المفردات التي قدمها البحث تمثل كل حالة من المشروطية بمعناها الأقرب بالعربية الفصحى. Can /could; May/ might تمثل الإمكانية والقدرة والسماح تمثل الضرورة والحسم والإجبار، Must/ have to Ought to/should تمثل الإشارة والنصح والاستخدام الافتراضي would/will تستخدم بمعنيين (الاحتمالية العالية) والتقرير (القصدية والإرادة). Shall لها معاني التخمين (الشخص الأول الفاعل) والتقرير (السؤال والشخص الأول) وطلب النصيحة والوعود والعروض. يتوصل البحث في نهايته إلى أن أفعال المشروطية الإنكليزية هي نظام مغلق ولها مقابل عربي بالمعنى، والعربية تفتقر التفريق بين معانيها.

|b The current research paper introduces the actual fact about modality in English and their Arabic equivalent. It shows the absolute way to translate sentences included such modals in a way that represents them as full verbs, prepositional phrases, particles and uninflected verbs. The items of this research presents each case of modality with its nearest equivalent in standard Arabic like possibility, ability and permission of can/could; may/might. Must/have to represent necessity, deduction and obligation. Should/ought to, have the meanings of inference, advisability and putative use. will/would in their usages, have the meanings of prediction (high likelihood) and volition (intention and willingness). Shall has the meanings of prediction (1st person sub.),volition (question and 1st person), request for advice, and promises and offers. The result ends at a conclusion that the English modals are a closed system, but they have modal meanings in Arabic; and on the contrary, Arabic lacks the fine distinction of the meanings. Since, Arabic has many verbs that are equivalent to the English modals which lacks the distinction of the English ones.
