المستخلص: The world is witnessing a huge increase in the role of knowledge and information in the economy, Knowledge has become the engine of production and economic growth. Investment in knowledge has become one of the factors of production, as it increases productivity and hence job opportunities. This research aims to identify the knowledge economy and the pillars on which, it is based, and a study of the availability of Egypt to path toward knowledge economy guided by Singapore’s experience. The study concluded that countries that depend on the knowledge economy will be at the fore front of the world in development indicators, which is What will undoubtedly be reflected on its economies and the welfare of its people, and that Egypt is not far from the knowledge based economy but nevertheless needs to link education to development plans in society, and increase the spending on research and Developing and encouraging partnerships between educational institutions and productive companies to encourage innovation and turn the results of scientific research into useful techniques and practical applications for society in all aspects of life.
