المستخلص: The study shows the most prominent mechanisms for the transition towards a Knowledge economy, as in light of the economy based on knowledge and science, knowledge has become the main source of production, unlike the traditional economy, which represents nature, work and capital the main production resources. Therefore, we opted to divide our study into two chapters: In the first chapter: we tried to shed light on the intellectual and theoretical framework of the knowledge economy, and to clarify the concept of knowledge economy and its most prominent features and the reasons that led to its emergence, and we moved then in the second topic to highlight the role of the knowledge economy in the development of society.
