The article intends to publish two new inscriptions stored at Dougga and mentioning the name of the king Juba first. These are two votive texts addressed to the god Baal Hammon. The two faithful date their act of devotion with precision. The first inscription dates back to the year two of the King’s reign. As for the second one, it dates back to the year four. By mentioning the month Bûl, one of the two documents also provides evidence of the use of the Syrian-Palestinian calendar at that time. Palaeography remains attached to neopunic script; all signs that reveal the deep roots of the Punic culture, almost a century after the destruction of Carthage in 146 BC. L’article se propose de publier deux inscriptions inédites conservées à Dougga et mentionnant le nom du roi Juba premier. Il s’agit de deux textes votifs s’adressant au dieu Baal Hammon. Les deux fidèles datent leur acte de dévotion avec précision. Le premier est daté de l’an deux du règne du roi. Quant au second, il remonte à l’an quatre. A travers la mention du nom du mois Bûl, l’un des deux documents apporte aussi la preuve de l’usage jusqu’à cette date, du calendrier syro-palestinien. La paléographie reste attachée à l’écriture néopunique classique ; autant d’indices qui révèlent le profond ancrage de la culture punique près d’un siècle après la destruction de Carthage en 146 av J.-C. |
