تعد الخدمات الاجتماعية من الموضوعات المهمة التي تتصدى لها الدراسات الجغرافية، ويركز البحث على دراسة الأبعاد الجغرافية للوحدات الاجتماعية، حيث قدم البحث تطورها وتوزيعها الجغرافي، وخصائص المستفيدين من خدماتها، ومؤشرات قياس كفاءتها، ودرجات رضا المستفيدين عن خدماتها، وتشخيص مشكلاتها، وتقديم مقترحات لحلها. وبلغ عدد الوحدات الاجتماعية بمحافظة المنوفية 109 وحدة، وشهد عددها نموا واضحا من 94 وحدة عام 2000 إلى 109 وحدة عام 2019. وانتهى البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج، منها تباين التوزيع الجغرافي للوحدات الاجتماعية، وتباين معدل خدمتها ومعدل تباعدها، وتباين درجات رضا المستفيدين عن خدماتها، كما رصد البحث بعض المشكلات التي تواجهها منها تدني تحديث هذه الوحدات، وضعف المبالغ المصروفة للمستفيدين، وزيادة نصيب بعض الوحدات من السكان، وقدم البحث بعض المقترحات منها الارتقاء بكفاءة العاملين، وتدريبهم على استخدام التكنولوجيا المتطورة، وتحسين البنية الأساسية للوحدات، وإنشاء وحدات جديدة في المناطق التي تشهد ضغطا سكانيا، وسرعة الاستجابة لمقترحات وشكاوى المستفيدين.
Social services are an important topic in geographical studies. The research focuses on studying the geographical dimensions of social units, the research presents its evolution, geographical distribution, the characteristics of beneficiaries of its services, indicators of measuring their efficiency, degrees of satisfaction of beneficiaries with their services, diagnosing their problems, and submitting proposals for their solution. Number of social units in Menoufia Governorate reached 109 units. Number of social units witnessed a clear growth from 94 units in 2000 to 109 units in 2019. The research ended with a set of results, including the variation in the geographical distribution of social units, the variation in the service rate and the rate of their spacing, and the degree of satisfaction of the beneficiaries with their services. The research also monitored some of the problems like low modernization of these units, the weak amounts spent for beneficiaries, and the increase in the share of some units of the population. The research presented some suggestions, including improving the efficiency of workers, training them in the use of advanced technology, improving the infrastructure of the units, establishing new units in areas experiencing population pressure, and quickly responding to the complaints of the beneficiaries
