المستخلص: يعبر الأديب عن مجتمعه تعبيرا يعكس نظرته لهذا المجتمع وما ينبغي أن يكون عليه، مدعوما بعمق النظر ورهافة الحس ومدفوعا بالغيرة والانتماء. وتمتلك القصة بنوعيها القصيرة والقصيرة جدا مقومات الاستجابة للتحولات الاجتماعية السريعة للإنسان المعاصر، استثمرتها الكاتبة سهام العبودي للتعبير عن مجتمعها وقضاياه جزءا من رسالتها الأدبية. هذا ما تناولته الدراسة وفق منهج اجتماعي تحليلي لنماذج مختارة من قصصها، تمت على ثلاثة محاور: تناول المحور الأول العلاقات الاجتماعية بمجريي الصداقة وعلاقة الرجل بالمرأة، فبين حرص القاصة على إبراز قيم الصداقة وتبني قضية المرأة. ووقف المحور الثاني على مشكلات المجتمع وأمراضه المادية والقولية، وأظهر سعي الكاتبة إلى رفع قيمة الإنسان مقابل المادة، وحثها على تخليص المجتمع من الأمراض القولية، أما المحور الثالث فتناول الصراعات المجتمعية التي يحركها الزمن والبيئة، وأبرز حرص القاصة على تقبل الآخر المختلف جيلا وبيئة. وعملت الدراسة على تحليل النصوص تحليلا اجتماعيا لموضوعاتها وأبرز عناصرها الفنية، وأوصت الباحثة باستمرار هذا النهج من الدراسة لتشكيل رؤية اجتماعية عامة لدى كتاب القصة القصيرة.

The writer typically depicts his society using expressions that reflect his vision of that society and what it should be, supported by far-sightedness and tenderness and driven by jealousy and sense of belonging. The story (with its both types, short and very short), has elements of the response to the rapid social transformations of the modern man. All those elements are invested by the author, Siham Al-Aboudi to express her society and its related issues as a part of her literary mission. This is what the study has dealt with according to a social analytical approach to some selected models of Al-Aboudi’s stories. The study has focused on three aspects: The first aspect dealt with the social relations in friendship and the relationship between men and women; showing the author's interest to highlight the value of friendship and adopting women related issues. The second aspect dealt with the social problems related to verbal and financial issues as well as illustrating the author’s attempt to enhance the value of human versus material and stimulating this value to get rid of other verbal diseases. Whereas, the third aspect dealt with the societal conflicts that are driven by time and surroundings, and highlighted the keenness of the author to accept others who belong to different generations and surroundings. The study has included a social discourse analysis of its themes and its most important artistic elements. Finally, the researcher recommended a constant use of this approach to form a general social vision of short story writers.
