|b In the globalized world of today, English movies and series have seen a high turnout and people are having real interest in them. Movies and series are worlds of language use just like the real world human interact in; yet the language used in movies and series is not spontaneous. Writers plan their scripts pretty consciously to produce the best product that they can. In doing so, as the current study hypothesizes, writers of movies and series make use of some well-studied concepts in the field of linguistics to create some of their scenes. Those concepts can be for instance some semantic concepts (such as lexical relations, wordplay, etc.) and some other pragmatic notions (such as Grice's maxims, implicature, politeness, etc.). Writers do build whole scenes on linguistic concepts utilization. Highlighting the different linguistic concepts that are utilized in filmmaking, the current study finds it to be useful in two ways: (i) it, on the one hand, provides insights on the way filmmaking world benefits from linguistic studies and (ii), on the other hand, gives insights to teachers of English linguistics in universities to benefit from such movies and series in clarifying some of their lessons to students and well attract their attention by something (movies and series) that they have interest in.
