|a يحاول البحث إثبات أسبقية المحدثين في استخدام المنهج المقارن، وبيان أصالته في مناهجهم للبحث عن أحوال الرواة. وقد اتبع الباحث في هذا البحث المنهج الاستقرائي والمنهج المقارن، كما استعان بالمنهج التحليلي. وقد تناول البحث: ترجمة ابن حبان وتعريفاً بكتابه المجروحين. وقد توصل البحث إلى أن أنواع المقارنة المستخدمة عند ابن حبان هي: المقارنة بين مرويات الشيوخ، والمقارنة بين مرويات التلامذة الرواة عن شيخ واحد، ومقارنة رواية راوٍ لحديث واحد في أزمنة مختلفة، والمقارنة بين الحفظ والكتاب، والمقارنة بين مرويات الشيخ وتلميذه. وختم البحث بأهم نتائجه.

|b This study is carried out to demonstrate that the narrators of prophetic Sayings have preceded the usage of this sort of comparison in their techniques in searching for the conditions of the narrators. The researcher has used the inductive, analytical and comparative methods. This research covered: Biography to Ibn Hebban, and description to his book (Al-Majroheen). The research concluded that the types of comparison used by Ibn Hibban are: Comparison between a narration of teachers. Comparison between teacher's students. Comparison of the narration which has been reported at different times by same narrator. Comparison between al-hadeeth which narrator memorized and his document. Comparison between narration of teacher and his student. The research concluded with its most important results.
