تناولت الدراسة أسباب منازعات الحدود وطرق فضها. حيث تعد نزاعات الحدود الدولية من أدق النزاعات الدولية وأخطرها على السلم والأمن الدوليين وذلك نتيجة للأهمية الخاصة التي تمثلها الحدود لكل من الدول إذ تحدد تلك الحدود النطاق الإقليمي لكافة الدول ومن ثم تحدد إطار سيادتها الداخلية. تمثلت مشكلة الدراسة في أن ازدياد نزاعات الحدود بين الدول نتيجة لعدم إجراء عمليات التخطيط والترسيم للحدود الأمر الذي أدى إلى توتّر الأوضاع وتأزمها بين دول المنطقة، وكادت أن تؤدي المنازعات بين بعض دول المنطقة إلى الحرب مما تطلب ضرورة تسوية المنازعات بصورة سلمية. هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على مفهوم المنازعات الدولية. والوقوف على بيان مفهوم وتطور التحكيم. ودراسة دور الطرق القضائية في تسوية المنازعات الدولية بصورة عامة. إتبعت الدراسة المنهج التاريخي وكذلك المنهج الوصفي وأيضاً المنهج التحليلي لتحليل الوقائع والأحداث. توصلت الدراسة إلى عدد من النتائج أهمها النزاعات الحدودية المسلحة، توصل إلى نتائج كارثية مما يجعل اللجوء إلى الوسائل السلمية لحل النزاع أمراً مطلوبا للمحافظة على السلم والأمن في الدولتين. أوصت الدراسة بعدة توصيات منها ضرورة إنهاء المشكلات بين الدول المتجاورة وعدم تصعيدها أو تأجيلها للمستقبل لطبيعة الظروف المحلية والإقليمية التي يمر بها العالم.
The study deals with the causes of border disputes and methods of resolving them. Where international border disputes are considered one of the most delicate international conflicts and the most dangerous to international peace and security, as a result of the special importance that borders represent for each country, as those borders determine the territorial scope of all countries and then define the framework of their internal sovereignty. The problem of the study is that the increase in border disputes between countries as a result of Conducting planning and border demarcation processes, which led to tension and crisis among the countries of the region and nearly led to conflicts between some countries of the region to war, which calls for the need to settle disputes peacefully. The study aimed to identify the concept of international disputes. And to study the definition of the concept and development of arbitration, and study the role of judicial methods in settling international disputes in general. The study followed the historical method as well as the descriptive method, as well as the analytical method for analyzing facts and events. The study reached a number of result, the most important of which is the armed border conflicts. It reached disastrous results, which makes resorting to peaceful means to resolve the conflict a requirement to maintain peace and security in the two countries. The study recommended several recommendations. including the necessity of ending the problems between neighboring countries and not escalating them or postponing them for the future due to the nature of the local and regional conditions that the world is going through.
