المستخلص: Valerius Flaccus wrote his own epic in the era of the Flavian Family (69- 96 AD). The subject of a civil war and killing of the brothers was an important issue that were expressed by the epics in that era, Valerius’ epic emphasizes the civil war and brotherly conflicts in such a great manner larger than the processing counterpart Apollonius Rhodius. Hercules personality will work as a basis for comparison with Jason and Hercules reminds us of the prominent role played by Hercules in the Iliad , and Hercules heroism come only because of Jason deification. And here comes the Hercules in the background as well as coming in the background of Virgil. Thus we could conclude that Valerius Flaccus was more complicated on the main basis of epic poetry rules set by his predecessors, particularly the Roman poet Virgil whom he is influenced by in drawing his characters, and Homer , who laid down the rules of drawing the character of epic hero, affected in a low extent with Apollonius . Thus, we find that Valerius Flaccus is mainly character on the complex rules of epic poetry set by his predecessors, particularly the Roman poet Virgil whom he influenced by drawing his characters , and Homer who established the character of epic hero, Apollonius Rhodius who address the same topic in the era of Alexandria
