|f The study conducted a qualitative analysis of the Egyptian presidential elections in 2018 on the channels “France 24, BBC Arabia, Sky News Arabic” based on news frameworks’ theory. A comprehensive survey of all news bulletins and programs in the three channels was conducted from the start of the elections in March 2018 until the results were announced in April. The volume of news analyzed in the three channels reached 198 news and 43 paragraphs of news programs and special coverage of the Egyptian elections. The qualitative analysis showed a clear difference between the treatment of France 24 and BBC Arabic on the one hand and Sky News Arabia on the other hand, while the treatment was somewhat similar between France 24 and BBC Arabic. The clear interest in the issue of the Egyptian election on Sky News Arabia became strikingly evident. It topped the channels under the study in the space that was devoted to discussing the Egyptian elections and the achievements during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, and the trend in support of the Egyptian government and the Egyptian elections became clear. It paid particular attention to highlighting all state achievements during the era of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and listed them in as much detail as possible. In this regard, it hosted many experts and politicians, amounting to more than double what they have hosted on France 24 or BBC Arabic. It also worked to clarify some of the legal minute details in the electoral issue stipulated in the Egyptian constitution. In general, the channel represented a bright, positive image of Egypt and its achievements and was a powerful propaganda campaign urging the need for participation during the elections. Hence, we find that Sky News Arabia represents a political communication model that expresses the close relations between Egypt and the Emirates, a country that was one of the first countries to support Egypt after the June 30 revolution. The Arabic character prevailed over the British on the channel that expressed Egypt’s strength and pivotal role in the Arab world and its steadfastness in the face of the severity of the challenges it faces. It can be said that the channel’s joint financing pattern between the Abu Dhabi Media Investment Company and the British Sky Company has an impact on the channel’s news treatment, in addition to the fact that Sky News is basically not a public service in Britain like BBC, but it depends on its profits in financing.\nWith regard to BBC Arabic’s handling of the elections, the channel can be described as somewhat more balanced than France 24, where the program presenters and reporters committed to some extent to investigate the terms used in describing the elections and their turnout and in the way of dialogue with the guests in a manner that does not show a special orientation, despite this, BBC Arabic sometimes used some expressions that had an indirect negative connotation towards the electoral scene, the political system, or the freedom of the media in Egypt, in addition to highlighting that the two sides of the electoral process are President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and the opposition, and whoever represented the other candidate’s side was neglected. The channel might have done this to show a state of political division, which is what France 24 did as well. In view of some political backgrounds of the Egyptian-British relations, according to the SIS official website, the site indicated that there was a British misunderstanding at the beginning of the June 30 Revolution of the circumstances of the events in Egypt, and Britain had reservations about the political changes that took place in Egypt after the June 30 revolution. However, Egyptian-British relations have not been damaged much. Perhaps one of the essential points in the development of the British position towards the events in Egypt was the one raised, in Britain itself, regarding the issue of extremism, Then the emergence of Britons who were recruited into the terrorist organization ISIS, as well as the findings of the British investigation committee into the activities of the Brotherhood inside Britain. These developments helped to enlighten the British side more about the Egyptian position’s truth and accuracy and took serious legislation to combat extremism on its territory. Hence, British official statements came out stating that after President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi became a partner in combating terrorism, there was no room except for closer relations between the two countries and the continuation of cooperation between them. We find that Britain’s “apparent” official policy towards Egypt was in line in one way or another with the BBC’s treatment. Hence, in addition to being a British public service, it is clear that the BBC’s funding pattern affected its treatment of Sky News, which differs in its funding pattern.\nIt turned out that France 24 was the most prominent channel in presenting the viewpoint of the Egyptian opposition and non-supporters of the political system. The channel was the most direct when its program presenters used some terminology and asked guests some questions that carried some negative views towards the Egyptian elections, especially with regard to the perception of media freedom in Egypt. But it was also committed to presenting the official Egyptian statements regarding the elections and showed a large portion of the footage that expressed the people’s support for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. Although the channel repeatedly shed light on the position of the opposition - despite its inactive role in Egyptian political life - it cannot be said that France 24 had a hostile attitude toward the Egyptian political system or the Egyptian elections because the Egyptian-French relations witnessed a great development in various fields during the era of President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, and the fight against terrorism was one of the most important priorities of both sides. It is also worth noting that the French position during the June 30 revolution was not supportive of the Muslim Brotherhood regime and believes that the revolution is the will of a people, and thus the pattern of treatment of the channel is in line with the pattern of Western media in judging the positions from a special perspective and the necessity of presenting the various points of view out of France’s interest in the issue of freedoms and rights, even if that treatment is relatively inconsistent with the political changes that the Egyptian society is witnessing, which requires an accurate understanding of special political dimensions and challenges that Egypt faces to protect its national security. Thus, it can be said that the channel’s financing pattern - which depends on the French government - has had some effect on the way the news is treated.\nHence, France 24 and BBC Arabic are two examples that express the Western approach in looking at Arab countries and not taking into account the sensitive political changes they are going through that impose the need to deal in a special way that takes into account many internal considerations and the privacy of each country, especially after the difficult years that the Arab peoples have gone through. After what the Western media called the Arab Spring revolutions in 2011.\nThis abstract translated by Dar AlMandumah Inc. 2021
