المستخلص: Although the Phaedrus' fables did not explicitly present clear references or links to Ovid; except some similarities between the circumstances of their mysterious persecution, the significance of Ovid to Phaedrus had not yet been highlighted yet. This paper, however, in accordance with the phenomenon of critical intertextuality and analytical approach, will observe some intersexuality hints in Phaedrus' poetry related to Ovid. It will, also, highlight Ovidian echoes in his poetry, by shedding light on some verbal Ovidian hints, ideas, features and concepts by which Phaedrus made benefit, and were reflected on the tight links between animals in his fables and metamorphic animals at Ovid, especially deer and their struggles to survive in environments not their own, governed by hierarchy structures. Exile poetry of Ovid is also reflected in the construction of Phaedrus for his persona and depiction of powerful figures such as Augustus in order to present himself as a poet under imperial authority. Finally, Phaedrus reached the conclusion that the animals in the world of fables and writers who occupy the dangerous profession of the poet should explore the struggles of adaptation to life in the post-Augustan era, which represents the imperial reality after the transformation, a reality where the possibility of appearing in certain career or writing is a precarious one.
