This paper deals with the analysis of two female characters that appear in Terence’s comedy Eunuchus through the Gender Concept, and those are the courtesan Thais, and the maid-servant Pyrhias. Gender is the cultural expression of the patterns of the masculine behavior that should be followed by men, and the patterns of the feminine behavior that should be followed by women. This means that Gender points out to the roles, behaviors, activities, and features suitable for men and women in each society and this differs from one society to another according to the differences of its cultures and concepts. It also deals with the social position or these characters in Rome, especially, in the second century B.C. And by following this, we can try to show to what extent did each female character achieve some of the features and qualities of Roman masculinity, although they were marginalized characters. For example, Thais is portrayed as a woman of strong character, and rational thinking, and who is able to control her emotions. Pythias is portrayed as a brave and courageous character. And all these were usually considered as male traits
