المستخلص: The present research has set the objective of developing an economic diagnosis of the city of Oran with its 26 communes. We have supported the descriptive analysis of development indicators with a principal components analysis (PCA). This allowed us to define the characteristics of the city and to assess the changes that have marked and will mark the evolution of its economic development. This diagnosis finally revealed the major local development issues of this city

La présente recherche a fixé pour objectif de développer un diagnostic économique de la wilaya d’Oran avec ses 26 communes. Nous avons appuyé l’analyse descriptive des indicateurs de développement par une analyse en composantes principales (ACP). Ceci nous a permit de définir les caractéristiques de la wilaya et d’évaluer les changements qui ont marqué et qui marqueront l’évolution de son développement économique. Ce diagnostic a abouti enfin à révéler les enjeux majeurs de développement local de cette wilaya.
