المستخلص: تكشف القراءة الجمالية لمعلقة امرئ عن قيم جمالية كان يحس بها الشاعر، وتدل علي ذوق مترف، وحس جمالي متميز، يتحسس مظاهر الجمال في الكون والكائنات، كالفرس والمطر والوادي المقفر. وما من شك في أن أبرز مظاهر الجمال يتجلى في المرأة، فهو يقدر في المرأة جمالها، بكل أشكال الجمال وأنواعه، ولعل هذا راجع إلى تعدد علاقاته مع النساء، وتعدد أشكال هذه العلاقات وتنوعها. ومن الطبيعي تحديدها بنوعين، حسي مادي قوامه اللذة، وعاطفي وجداني قوامه الحب. وترتبط اللذة عنده بالتعدد، ونيل مختلف أشكال المتع، مع نساء كثيرات، واستباحة المتع والإفراط فيها، في حين ترتبط العاطفة الوجدانية عنده بامرأة واحدة، وقوام هذه العاطفة الحرمان. ولعل هذا الحرمان هو الذي قاد إلى ذلك الاستغراق في المتع واستباحتها عند الأخريات، ولعل هذه الاستباحة مجرد خيال للتعويض، أو إثارة غيرة المحبوبة التي لم ترحمه. ومهما يكن الشأن، فإن الشاعر في الحالتين يتحسس قيمًا للجمال حسية ومعنوية، وهذا ما سيقف عنده البحث بالاعتماد علي نص المعلقة وحدها، بعيدًا عما هو متناقل حوله من أخبار ومروريات.

And there is no doubt that the most prominent manifestations of beauty are manifested in the women. The permissibility and excess of pleasures, whereas his affective emotion is related to one woman, and the strength of this emotion is deprivation, and perhaps this deprivation is what led to that indulging in pleasure and permitting it to others, and perhaps this permissibility is just a fantasy to compensate, or to arouse the jealousy of the beloved that did not have mercy on him, and whatever the matter. The poet in both cases, he senses sensual and moral values of beauty, and this is what the research will stop by relying on the text of the suspension alone, away from what is transmitted around it in terms of news and narrations.
