Abstract: يتناول المقال مرحلة مهمة من تاريخ مدينة تلمسان والغرب الجزائري، وهي المدة التي تم فيها احتلال الجزائر من طرف فرنسا وسقوط السلطة العثمانية، وتوجه بعض الأنظار إلى الاستنجاد بالمغرب الأقصى وحكومته الممثلة في السلطة العلوية لإنقاذ الوضع السياسي الكارثي، وموقف القبائل والشخصيات الجزائرية والهدف الحقيقي للمغرب وراء الرغبة في بسط النفوذ على الغرب الجزائري وموقف فرنسا وبريطانيا من هذه المسألة.

The article deals with an important stage in the history of the city of Tlemcen and the west of Algeria, which is the period during which Algeria was occupied by France and the fall of Ottoman power, some people's attention to plead al-Maghrib al-Aqsa (Morocco) and its Alawite Government to save the disastrous political situation, the position of Algerian tribes and personalities, the real objective of Morocco behind the desire to extend influence over the Algerian west and the position of France and Britain on this issue.
