المستخلص: شهد مطلع القرن العشرين تخلخلا في التناول الشمولي للظواهر الفنية، والذي يمكن تسميته مرحلة المحك، فالانتقال من نظرية مثالية إلى نظرية واقعية أخرى أمر غير هين، إذ انه يتطلب رؤية وقراءة ومفاهيم أخرى، وفي ضوء هذه الجدلية تتجلى مشكلة البحث بالسؤال الآتي هل تأثر التصميم بالمثالية والواقعية. ومن خلال التساؤلات المذكورة أنفاً وجد الباحث مبررا منطقيا لتناول هذه المشكلة بالدراسة من خلال بحثه الموسوم (المثالية والواقعية في التصميم دراسة مقارنة). وتجلب أهمية البحث في التعرف على مفهوم وفاعلية النظريتين المثالية والواقعية وأثرها في التصميم، أما هدف البحث فهو الكشف عن مدى تأثر فن التصميم بالنظريتين المثالية والواقعية، أما حدود البحث فتضمنت الحد الموضوعي الذي تحدد بدراسة مفهوم وفاعلية النظريتين المثالية والواقعية وأثرهما في التصميم دراسة مقارنة، والحد المكاني تحدد بدراسة أغلفة المجلات العلمية، وقد تم اعتماد المدة الزمنية من العام 2010 ولغاية العام 2011. اما الفصل الثاني فقد تضمن ثلاثة مباحث تناول المبحث الأول مفهوم النظرية أما المبحث الثاني فتناول نقد النظرية ومدى تطابقها مع التصميم أما الثالث فتناول فاعلية التصميم من خلال النظرية، ثم تلا ذلك المؤشرات للنظريتين وجانب التصميم. ثم الفصل الثالث الذي تضمن إجراءات البحث والذي اعتمد فيه المنهج المقارن الذي يتميز بتحديد أوجه الشبه وأوجه الاختلاف بين حادثتين أما طريقة اختيار العينة فتم بطريقة العينة العشوائية، أما الفصل الرابع فتضمن وصف وتحليل العينة فمن خلال فقرات الاستمارة التي استمدت فقراتها من مؤشرات الاطار النظري، وجاء الفصل الخامس والذي تضمن أهم النتائج وهي كما يلي: 1-استخدمت آليات ومعالجات تصميمية لإبراز بنائية الفكرة كتوظيف المثير المرئي والذي ظهر بلون يعطي الانطباع بالحرارة والدفيء وهو الأحمر ليؤدي وظيفته في التعبير وإظهار حالة التضاد المؤدية للحركة عن تأثير اللون الأحمر في شد الانتباه. 2-استخدام التكثيف الشكلي للفضاء المفتوح الذي يوحي بنوع من الاغلاق متمركزا في وسط التصميم وتوظيف التشخيص المضخم للصورة وفي وضعية مثالية (خيالية) تظهر صفاتها الجمالية.
