المستخلص: Smart contracts are considered one of the main types that produced by the recent technological revolution, in particular, the confidence chain technique, known as blockchain technology. This research investigated the smart contracts and their relationship with the chain of trust. It focused on the nature of the smart contracts, as well as, the basic concepts used in them. Furthermore, this study discussed the expected impact of these contracts after completing their legal frameworks. Moreover, this research addressed a number of important questions about the legal nature of the programs used in these contracts, and the validity, acceptability, and commitment to them. We have concluded that there are insufficient provisions in international conventions and national legislation regarding the smart contracts. The United Arab Emirates (UAE legislator did not put designation to regulate the smart contracts either directly or through the integrated law but, instead, there are some provisions that have been demonstrated in the law of electronic commerce. Therefore, we recommended that smart contracts should be regulated at both national and international levels. We also recommended that smart programs should acquire legal characteristic with certain regulations.
