The present study was conducted to investigate the effect of a suggested unit based on Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) on developing some spelling skills necessary for first year secondary school students. Sixty students were randomly chosen and divided into two groups: the experimental group (N=30) and the control group (N=30). After being sure that they were equivalent, the experimental group was trained in spelling skills through the use of the suggested unit based on NLP, while the regular instruction was used with the control group. To achieve the aims of the study, the researchers prepared a spelling skills test to measure the students' spelling skills. It was administered to them before and after the experiment. The mean scores of the pre post administrations of the test were treated statistically. The results of statistical data analysis indicated that the experimental group outperformed the control group in the EFL necessary spelling skills and the unit based on NLP had a large effect on developing the experimental group students' EFL spelling skills. In the light of the positive findings, the researchers recommended the use of Neuro Linguistic Programming for developing the secondary school students' EFL spelling skills.
