المستخلص: إن موضوع هذه الورقة هو مراجعة وإعادة قراءة لبعض الأعمال الأساسية، التي أنجزت على مدار ما يزيد عن قرن من الزمن بأرض الجزائر البكر، فالبحث عن أجود الأعمال وعلى أكثرها تاريخية وتمثيلا للعمق الجزائري، وحسن قراءتها وغربلتها، يتطلب جهدا غير يسير ننظر من خلاله إلى ذلك التراث على أنه مثير للجدل حقا، لكنه في ذات الوقت يحمل الكثير من التوصيفات المهمة والحقائق التفصيلية المرتبطة بالمواضيع وبالأبحاث المختلفة في شتى المجالات. غاية ما هنالك هي أنه لا يجب أن نتغاضى أو نتغافل على تلك الظروف والوضعيات الاثنوغرافية المختلفة لأولئك الكتاب والباحثين، ففهم ومعرفة ذلك الإنتاج الضخم المختلف فيه والذي كان في يوم من الأيام يبدو معقولا في راهن عصر صاحبه الكاتب والمؤلف، إنما يتطلب ابتداء نقد وجهة نظر المؤلف، التي نسجها على أنقاض وجهة نظر الأهالي ونستهدف هنا بالأساس تلك الكوكبة من الإثنولوجيين والأنثروبولوجيين التي اشتغلت على أرض الجزائر وساكنتها ومعاودة النظر في مقاربتها الاثنوغرافية.

The subject of this paper is a review, re-reading and evaluation of some of the core works, which has been carried out for more than a century in the land of virgin Algeria. The search for the best works and the most historical and representative of the depth of Algeria, and good reading and screening after that requires an effort, is not easy to look at that heritage as being really controversial, yet at the same time, it carries a lot of important descriptions and detailed facts related to different topics and research in various fields. The most important thing is that we should not overlook or ignore the different circumstances and ethnographic situations of these writers and researchers, Understanding and knowing this huge production is different and it was one day seems reasonable in betting the era of author and writer, but it requires a critique of the point of view of the author, which weave on the ruins of the view of indigenous. Here we are mainly targeting the constellation of ethnologists and anthropologists who have worked on the land of Algeria and its inhabitants and reconsider its ethnographic approach..

L’héritage colonial en matière de littérature ethnologique et anthropologique en Algérie est une véritable mine d’informations, qui est restée jusque à l’heure actuelle peu exploité par la communauté universitaire. C’est à cette égard là, que nous tentions de revisiter cette manne de connaissance si spéculatives, qui a suscité pour longtemps un désaccord idéologique voire nationaliste entre les deux rives l’Algérie et la France. Ainsi dire, il est vraisemblablement de dire que les écris coloniaux, notamment en ethnologie et anthropologie, ont beaucoup été orientés vers des fins dominatrices prédatrices qui ont servi en premier lieu la cause coloniale, et légitimé son action brutale. Dans cet œuvre ils ont été, à vrai dire, dans leur rôle. Mais est-ce que pour cela que nous devions jeter le bébé avec l’eau de bain? Il me semble qu’il y’a une possibilité de voir cet héritage différemment et autrement. En effet, il est temps, de porter un nouveau regard critique et objectif à l’œuvre coloniale et reconnaitre aussi à leurs auteurs, une certaine rigueur dans les approches et méthodes d’investigation et de recherche. Nous estimons dans ce papier, d’exprimer un point de vue critique et remettant en cause les thèses d’un certain nombre d’écrivains coloniaux, qui ont choisi l’Algérie et sa population «indigène», en tant que terrain de recherche privilégié inédit.
