المستخلص: بحثت هذه الدراسة في الدور الذي مارسته التحولات الاجتماعية على تغير البناء القيمي المرتبط بكبار السن، وقد طبق الباحث دراسته الميدانية على عشرين حالة من كبار السن بمدينة أسيوط، تمثل كبار السن من الأسر الحضرية، مستخدما دليل دراسة الحالة قام الباحث بتصميمه، استهدف من خلاله رصد التغيرات التي لحقت بالبناء القيمي المرتبط بكبار السن، ومن ثم تحليل الدور الذي مارسته التحولات الاجتماعية علي البناء القيمي المرتبط بكبار السن، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى مجموعة من النتائج، أهمها: أن هناك العديد من التحولات الاجتماعية التي عملت على تغير البناء القيمي لكبار السن، ومنها تغير حجم الأسرة وتحولها إلى الأسرة النووية، وتغير القيم المرتبطة بكبار السن كقيمة احترام وتقدير كبار السن، وقيمة العلاقات الاجتماعية، وقيمة المشاركة، كذلك التحولات الاقتصادية التي غيرت من مكانة المسنين وأدوارهم، وأخيرا التطورات التكنولوجية التي أثرت على حياة المسنين وعلى مكانتهم داخل الأسرة.

This study has examined the role played by the social transformations on the change in value building associated with the elderly. The researcher applied his field study on twenty individual of the elderly in Assiut city. This sample represents the elderly from the urban households. The researcher has designed and used the case study guide to recognize the Changes in the value structure associated with the elderly , and then analyzing the role played by the social transformations on the change in value building associated with the elderly. The study has come down to a set of findings, most important of which are: there is a number of social changes which have made a change in the value building associated with the elderly such as changing the size of the family and transforming it into a nuclear family; the change of the values associated with the elderly like values of respect and appreciation of the elderly, the value of social relations and the value of participation . In addition , there is a number of economic changes that changed the status and roles of the elderly, and lastly the technological developments that affected the lives of the elderly and their status within the family.
