520 |f This study aims to describe the fierce atmosphere of war and depict the life of the French army during French colonization in overseas countries. It examined what a hero is and the methods used by the writer to integrate the hero's personality into the narrative context, as well as the reasons and how this hero turned from a victorious conqueror to a victim soldier. It also discussed the vision adopted by Gardle in this work. According to a narrative analysis in a critical social framework, this problem is the cornerstone of our study. The study showed that the writer's vision is mainly focused on two important axes: the hero's search for glory in the desert on the one hand and his tragic end during World War I on the other. Therefore, we are in front of a "problematic" hero who represents a micro-picture of the society in which he lives and even humanity as a whole. Gradle has integrated the character of the hero with the victim character to assure the reader of the idea of social imperative that throws the hero into a huge gap. In the end, we found that in narrative terms, Gradle's vision is characterized by a remarkable aesthetic pattern resulting from the consistency of ideas with the writing style. The vision is homogeneous in terms of form, content, and psychologically and socially. Gradle's hero is isolated and outcasted and has to try to adopt a new vision of the world around him. 520 |d Cette étude a pour but de décrire la guerre avec toute son atrocité et la vie des militaires dans les colonies françaises d'outre-mer. Nous avons essayé de traiter les caractéristiques du héros de ce roman pour préciser de quel type il est, et les techniques utilisées pour l'introduire dans le déroulement des évènements pour qu'il finisse en «poilu» victime par une analyse narratologique dans des investigations sociocritiques. Nous avons trouvé que la vision du Gardel se base essentiellement sur deux piliers principaux : la gloire dans les colonies françaises en Algérie et l'humiliation dans la Guerre de 1914. Il en résulte que Charles Saganne est un héros «problématique» dont Gardel se sert pour présenter un microcosme social et humanitaire. Gardel a réussi à mêler la figure héroïque avec celle de la victime pour renforcer l'idée de la métamorphose, ce qui fait preuve d'une fatalité qui fait plonger l’homme dans un abysse. L'auteur a excellé à formuler sa vision d’une manière harmonieuse par l'interdépendance d'idées et d'écriture ; c'est une vision qui pousse l'homme solitaire et retiré à se faire une nouvelle "vision du monde". 
520 |a تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى وصف الأجواء الشرسة للحرب وتصور حياة طبقة رجال الجيش الفرنسي إبان الاستعمار الفرنسي في بلاد ما وراء البحار. تناولت الدراسة ماهية البطل والأساليب التي اتبعها الكاتب لإدماج شخصية البطل داخل السياق الروائي وكذلك أسباب وكيفية تحول هذا البطل من فاتح منتصر إلى جندي ضحية وأيضاً الرؤية التي تبناها جاردل في هذا العمل. تمثل هذه الإشكالية حجر الزاوية لدراستنا وفق تحليل سردي في إطار نقدي اجتماعي. وأوضحت الدراسة أن رؤية الكاتب تتركز في الأساس على محورين مهمين: بحث البطل عن المجد في الصحراء من جهة ونهايته المأساوية خلال الحرب العالمية الأولى من جهة أخرى وعليه فنحن أمام بطل "إشكالي" يمثل صورة مصغرة من المجتمع الذي يعيش فيه بل والإنسانية جمعاء. قام جاردل بدمج شخصية البطل بشخصية الضحية كي يؤكد للقارئ على فكرة الحتمية الاجتماعية التي تقذف البطل في هوة سحيقة. وفي النهاية وجدنا أنه من الناحية السردية تتسم رؤية جاردل بنسق جمالي ملحوظ ناتج عن تناسق الأفكار مع أسلوب الكتابة...فالرؤية متجانسة من حيث الشكل والمضمون ومن الناحية النفسية والاجتماعية فالبطل عند جاردل منعزل ومنبوذ وعليه محاولة تبني رؤية جديدة للعالم من حوله.
