|b Social media becomes an indispensable part of people’s lives because of the significant role it plays in the way individuals interact, communicate and collaborate with each other. Using social media, citizens are able to follow up all governmental activities and the government is able to achieve the desired goals. Therefore, the current study aims to reveal the role of the governmental accounts on twitter, in order to improve the governmental services, using the framing theory and to analyze the frames used in presenting the Egyptian issues in these accounts. As this study is classified as a descriptive study, the researcher used the survey method and content analysis to analyze the content of seven governmental accounts for a period of four months (from 1 March 2019 to 30 June 2019). The study reveals the weakness of governmental usage of social media to interact with citizens as it is still low level of interaction. The study also recommends further research to trace the impact of the posts to ensure maximum usage of social media.
