المستخلص: أصبح للدولة الآشورية أهمية كبيرة في تاريخ الشرق القديم عامة، وتاريخ سورية ومصر خاصة، وأن الآشوريون هم أحد الأقوام التي أثرت تأثرا كبيرا ومباشرا في تكوين منطقة الشرق القديم خلال فتوحاتهم العسكرية، وعرفت آشور بنزعتها التوسعية ورغبتها بمد نفوذها لتصبح أكبر وأقوى دولة في الشرق القديم، ولتحقيق طموحاتها التوسعية كان لابد من السيطرة على المناطق المجاورة لها (سورية وبابل ومصر)، التي كانت هدفا ليس فقط للحملات التجارية، بل أيضا للحملات العسكرية من قبل الآشوريين الذين حاولوا إخضاعها للسيطرة عليها، حيث تعد فترة حكم الملك الآشوري أسر حدون من أكثر الفترات غزارة بالحملات العسكرية والمتغيرات السياسية، التي حصلت بسبب ضعف تلك القوى في (سورية وبابل) المحيطة بالدولة الآشورية. والتي عمل الملك الآشوري أسر حدون على إخضاعها لآشور، ليضمن سيطرته على ثرواتها، وعدم تحالفها مع أعدائه في (مصر)، والحفاظ على تبعيتها لحكمه.

Assyria was known for its expansionist tendency and its desire to extend its influence to become the largest and most powerful state in The ancient East, and in order to achieve its expansionist ambitions, it was necessary to control the neighboring regions, so it was a target not only for commercial campaigns, but also for military campaigns by the Assyrians who tried to subjugate it to control it, as the period of the Assyrian king's rule was one of the most prolific periods of military campaigns and political changes, That happened because of the weakness of the international powers surrounding the Assyrian state. Which the Assyrian king Esarhaddon to subjugate and turn into Assyrian provinces, in order to ensure his control over its wealth, not to ally itself with his enemies, and to maintain its subordination to his rule.
