تناول البحث ترجيحات الإمام ابن جرير الطبري المعتمدة على الرأي وذلك من خلال التعريف بحياة الطبري والتعريف بتفسيره "جامع البيان عن تأويل آي القرآن" ومكانته بين كتب التفسير والمنهج الذي اعتمده الطبري فيه، وتناول البحث أيضا معني لفظ الترجيح والفرق بينه وبين لفظ الاختيار، ووضح البحث أنه ليس هناك كتاب من كتب التفسير يندرج تحت منهج بعينه وإنما كل تفسير فيه من منهج المنقول ومنهج المعقول، ولكننا نسلكه في قائمة المنهج الغالب عليه وكتاب جامع البيان للطبري خير مثال على ذلك حيث اعتمد الطبري فيه على المنقول عن السلف في الترجيح بين أقوال المفسرين وقد اعتمد إلى جانب ذلك على الرأي في الترجيح بين الأقوال فهو وإن كان إماما في التفسير بالمأثور إلا أنه تجاوزه إلى الاجتهاد بالرأي مما يدل على استقلال فكره وعمق رأيه، وقد ساق البحث الأدلة على ذلك من تفسير الطبري مع دراستها دراسة وافية
The research showed the preferences of Imam Ibn Jarir al-Tabari based on the opinion by dealing with the definition of the life of al-Tabari and the definition of his interpretation “Jami al-Bayan on the interpretation of the verse of the Qur’an” and its place among the books of interpretation and the method adopted by al-Tabari in it, and the research also dealt with the meaning of the term weighting and the difference between it and the term choice. There is no book of tafsir that falls under a specific method, but rather every interpretation in it is from the approach of the narrated and the approach of the reasonable, but we follow it in the list of the curriculum that prevails over him and the book of Jami al-Bayan by al-Tabari is the best example of this, as al-Tabari relied in it on the narrated from the predecessors in weighting between the sayings of the commentators In addition to that, he relied on the opinion in the weighting of the sayings, for although he was an imam in exegesis with the maxim, but he overlooked him to ijtihad with opinion, which indicates the independence of his thought and the depth of his opinion. The research cited the evidence for that from Al-Tabari’s interpretation with a comprehensive study.
