استهدفت هذه الدراسة تعرف مستوى إدارة الوقت لدى رؤساء الأقسام بكليات جامعة الجزيرة (السودان)، وكذلك معرفة المضيعات الذاتية والخارجية للوقت لدى أفراد العينة. ولتحقيق ذلك تم اختيار خمس كليات بصورة قصدية تمثل قطاعات الجامعة الخمسة، الصحي، الهندسي، التربوي، الزراعي، والاقتصادي. وقد شملت الدراسة جميع رؤساء الأقسام بالكليات الخمس وعددهم (40) رئيس قسم موزعين على الخمس كليات. استخدمت استبانة حوت ثلاثة محاور، المحور الأول مستوى إدارة الوقت، الثاني المضيعات الذاتية للوقت، الثالث المضيعات الخارجية للوقت استخدم برنامج SPSS لتحليل البيانات، حيث خرجت الدراسة بنتائج أهمها: أن مستوى إدارة الوقت لدى رؤساء الأقسام كانت بدرجة كبيرة كما أنهم يواجهون مضيعات ذاتية بدرجة متوسطة ومضيعات خارجية بدرجة قليلة. أظهرت نتائج الدراسة وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تعزى لمستوى الخبرة لصالح الخبرة الطويلة، ولا توجد فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية من حيث مستوى إدارة الوقت لدى أفراد العينة تعزى لمتغير النوع. توصي الدراسة بإعداد برامج تدريب وورش عمل لذوي الخبرات القصيرة تؤكد أهمية امتلاك رؤساء الأقسام لمبادئ إدارة الوقت، خاصة وأن الجودة في الإدارة تعتمد على عامل الوقت بدرجة كبيرة.
This study aimed at exploring the ability and skills of time management by head of departments in different faculties of The Gazera University (Sudan). The study took in consideration the different factors responsible for time wasting either personal or external factors. To verify this, five faculties were chosen deliberately _ representing five sectors comprising the body of the, Gazera University. These sectors are the medical, engineering educational, agricultural and socio- economic sectors. The study included all the heads of the departments in the five faculties (40). Questionnaire of three sections was used. The first section was dealing with the skills of manipulation of time. The second section dealt with personal factors of time wasting. The third section dealt with external factors of time wasting. SPSS programme was used for data analysis. The study revealed that the heads of the departments were capable of managing their time to a large extent but they faced some personal and external time wasting factors to a lesser extent. The results of the study disclose statistically significant differences attributed to long experience but no significant differences to gender. The study recommended prepared training programs and workshops for those who have short experience to emphasize the importance of mastering the principles of time management by the heads of the departments considering that quality of is based to a large extent on time factor.
