المستخلص: For nearly forty-five years, the conflict over Moroccan Western Sahara has agitated North Africa and has fueled tensions between Morocco and Algeria. International mediation efforts, especially those supported by the United Nations, although they led to the signing of a ceasefire in 1991, never reached an agreement concerning this territory controlled and administered by the Kingdom. This conflict has led some supporters of the Polisario Front to drift into radical Islamism and international terrorism.

Depuis près de quarante-cinq ans, le conflit autour du Sahara occidental marocain agite l’Afrique du Nord et entretient les tensions entre le Maroc et l’Algérie. Les efforts internationaux de médiation, notamment ceux soutenus par les Nations unies, bien qu’ils ont permis la signature d’un cessez-le-feu en 1991, n’ont jamais conclu à un accord concernant ce territoire contrôlé et administré par le Royaume du Maroc. Le conflit qui signe et persiste dans cette région entraine des dérives de la part de certains partisans du Front Polisario dans l’islamisme radical et le terrorisme international.
