|b Proverbs, being deeply immersed in local culture, have made translating these fixed expressions challenging. This study aims at investigating how these cultural expressions could be translated. For this purpose, data were collected and analysed systematically. The findings are that Hadhrami proverbs are translatable by applying three equivalences, and these are literal translation, paraphrase and proverb-for-proverb translation with the paraphrase being the most applicable. This study concludes with a Comprehensive Strategy, which offers nine formulas as practical solutions and compensation methods for translating proverbs. These nine formulas constitute a new preliminary universal model for translating all proverbs of all languages.
