هدفت هذه الدراسة إلى معرفة الإعلال والإبدال بصورة جيدة ومميزة. وإبراز وجهات النظر التي اتفق واختلف عليها الباحثون مع غيرهم ممن سبقوهم من الأسلاف والمحدثين في الإعلال والإبدال؛ مع توضيح سبب المخالفة إن وجدت؛ من أجل الوصول إلى البين الواضح من القول. فعلم النحو يهتم بوضع الحركات الإعرابية على أخر الكلمات، كما أن علم الصرف يهتم ببنية الكلمة وما يطرأ عليها من تغيير سواء أكان بالزيادة أو النقصان أو الإعلال والإبدال وغيره، فكلاهما وجهان لعملة واحدة. وتزويد علم الصرف بالشواهد من القرآن والسنة والحديث وقول العرب الفصحاء. ثم ربطه بفروع العربية الأخرى. وتكمن أهمية البحث في أنه تناول الإعلال والإبدال بطريقة تفصيلية خاصة، كما أن هذه المادة العلمية مقررة في الفصول الدراسية في الجامعات وبعض المدارس الثانوية، دراسة أثر الإعلال والإبدال على بنية الكلمة. وقد اعتمد الباحثون في دراستهم على المصادر الرئيسة في الحصول عل المعلومات، وشمل ذلك المراجع والكتب في مجال الصرف، ثم استخدم المنهج الاستقرائي والتحليلي من أجل الوصول إلى أهم النتائج المرجوة والتي تتمثل في معرفة الإعلال والإبدال معرفة جيدة، وتسهيل وتبسيط طريقة دراسته. وسبب اختيار الموضوع هو إماطة اللثام عن الإعلال والإبدال ومعرفته معرفة جيدة. ويوصي الباحثون، بدراسة علم الصرف دراسة متعمقة. فقد وجد الباحثون مجموعة من الصعاب منها صعوبة فهم ودراسة الإبدال والإعلال. ثم قلة الدراسات المتعمقة في الإعلال والإبدال خاصة في كثير من المكتبات.

The grammar is concerned with the position of the syllabic movements on the end of words, and it is also concerned with the structure of the word and the change that occurs, whether increase or decrease or substitution, both are two sides of one coin. And providing evidence from the Quran and Sunnah, Hadith and then connect it with other Arabic branches. The importance of the research is that it dealt with the Al-ilal and Al- ibdal (substitution and defect) in a very detailed way, and that this article is scheduled in the classrooms in universities and some secondary schools. The researchers relied on the main sources of information, including references and books, and then used the inductive and analytical method in order to reach the most important results, which is to make good knowledge of Al-ilal and Al-ibdal, and facilitate and simplify the method of study. The reason for choosing the subject is to reveal the evidence and to identify the Al-ilal and Al-ibdal (substitution and defect) in a good way.
