المستخلص: In current years, an enormous research has been done in the research field of Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). Routing process is a critical issue in MANET due to the lack of immobile infrastructure and centralized management. Thus, numerous routing protocols have been suggested to determine the optimized route from source node to the intended destination node. In this paper, firstly we provide a review of well known reactive routing protocols (namely DSR, AODV and TORA) with a particular focus on their features and functionality. The routing issues of these protocols are also discussed. Then the comparison is presented based on the routing methods and information utilized to make routing decisions. Furthermore the reviewed protocols can assist designers and researchers for improving their new routing protocols for MANETs.
