المستخلص: يعود تاريخ ميلاد التسامح في موطنه الأوروبي إلى ما يقارب الثلاثة قرون، لكنه اتخذ صيغته النهائية في نهاية القرن السابع عشر على يد فلاسفة التنوير أمثال جون لوك وفولتير وبيير بإيل، وجان جاك روسو وغيرهم....الخ. والذين ينحصر فيهم موضوع بحثنا وقد حددنا مشكلة بحثنا عموما حول التسامح كمفهوم متحول بمعنى أن القصد من مصطلح التسامح متغير وأن الأوروبيين استغلوا مبدأ التسامح لخدمة مصالحهم، فماهي التحولات التي عرفها معنى التسامح عبر الزمن؟ وكيف تم استغلاله من طرف الأوربيين؟ وقد استنتجنا من بحثنا أن مفهوم التسامح ديني المولد وكان معناه تقبل الآخر المختتلف في المذهب، لكن مع جون لوك ارتبط بالحقوق المدنية، ومع فولتير ارتبط بتعايش الأديان والحرية في المعتقد. وقد أخذ التسامح صورته السياسية في ميثاق الأمم المتحدة أين ارتبط التسامح بالديمقراطية وأصبح مبدأ من مبادئ حقوق الانسان.

The history of the birth of tolerance in its European homeland goes back nearly three centuries, but it was finalized at the end of the seventeenth century by philosophers of the Enlightenment such as John Locke, Voltaire, Pierre Bale, Jean-Jacques Rousseau and others .... etc. And to whom the subject of our research is limited and we have defined the problem of our research in general about tolerance as a transformed concept, meaning that the intent of the term tolerance is changing and that Europeans have exploited the principle of tolerance to serve their interests, so what are the transformations that the meaning of tolerance has known over time? How was it used by the Europeans? We have deduced from our research that the concept of religious-born tolerance and its meaning was the acceptance of others who differ in doctrine, but with John Locke it was associated with civil rights, and with Voltaire it was associated with coexistence of religions and freedom of belief. Tolerance took its political form in the United Nations Charter, where tolerance was associated with democracy and became a principle of human rights. key words: Tolerance, pluralism, difference, coexistence, civil rights, human rights, freedom of belief, democracy, the United Nations Charter, tolerance is one of the principles of human rights.
