يقوم هذا البحث بدراسة اللهجات العربية قديما وحديثا، ويعرض ما ذكره أهل اللغة عن تلك اللهجات وألقابها وخصائصها، وذكر العلاقات التي تجمع بين هذه اللهجات في الماضي والحاضر، وما طرأ عليها من تطورات، وبيان مدى صلة اللهجات ببعضها، وما تبقى من آثار تلك اللهجات القديمة إلى وقتنا الحاضر. حيث عني الجزء الأول من الدراسة بالحديث عن اللهجات القديمة، وبين الآثار المتبقية من تلك اللهجات إلى وقتنا الحاضر، وما طرأ عليها من تطورات، أما الجزء الثاني فقد عني باللهجات الحديثة، وبين الصلات والعلاقات التي تربطها باللهجات الأصيلة. واختتم البحث بمجموعة من النتائج، منها أن كثيرا من اللهجات الحديثة التي يتكلمها الناس اليوم هي لهجات أصيلة، تكلم بها القدماء، وأن اللهجات العربية آخذة في التغير والتطور، مادام هناك لسان عربي يتكلم بها، وهذا يدلك على عظم هذه اللغة، وسعتها لاستيعاب كل ما هو جديد.
This research investigates the dialects of the Arabic past and present, and presents what the people of the language about these dialects and their titles and characteristics, and then get out of all this by mentioning the relationships between these dialects in the past and present, and developments, and the statement of the relevance of the whispers each other, and the remaining effects Those dialects are old to the present. Where the first part of the study concerned the talk of ancient dialects, and the remaining effects of those dialects to the present time, and the developments, while the second part was concerned with modern dialects, and the links and relationships that connect with the original dialects. The research concluded with a set of results, including that many of the modern dialects spoken by people today are authentic dialects spoken by the ancients, and that the Arabic dialects are changing and developing, as long as there is an Arabic tongue to speak, and this affects the greatness of this language and its ability to absorb everything is new.
