المستخلص: This research compares the French and the American methods of teaching trumpet players (from the end of the Romantic era until the mid-twentieth century) in order to integrate the two curricula and identify the points of strengths in each educational school. Seeking the best results from each musician and trying different teaching methods will offer the teachers enough experience to find the appropriate method for each student according to his / her abilities and absorptive capacity. This comparison is based on the methods of: J.B. Arban - H.L. Clarke. Along 'Arith several other examples like the French method of G.Ba lay, and the American methods of: James Stamp and R Nagel. This comparison deals with some of the main exercises used in teaching each method and the way in which each method develops the performance of the trumpet player such as the best way of practicing music scales and take advantage of these exercises to develop different techniques such as maintaining air continuity, fingering techniques and the developing of tonguing techniques, practicing different melodic phrases bounded and separated while practicing the music scales and how to do exercises to strengthen the muscles of the tongue and getting the best results according to the speed of the music, whether it's single, double or triple tonguing. The research is also talking about how each method could help to develop the range of the instrument and the exercises used for this purpose. Finally, it presents some examples and few names of the most famous trumpet teachers and players in each school and the biography of the pioneers so that their personal experiences could be an inspiration for students and teachers as well.
