|a شيدت مدينة واسط في نهاية القرن الأول للهجرة، وكان ذلك بتأثير عوامل عديدة، سياسية وعسكرية واقتصادية وغيرها، حتى غدت واحدة من أهم مدن العراق، مما هيأ لأهلها فرصة التميز بصعد حياتية مختلفة، ومنها الصعيد العلمي، اذ بزغ نجم عدد كبير منهم في علوم مختلفة، وقد جاء هذا البحث ليسلط الضوء على اسهاماتهم في مجال علمي معين هو التاريخ، وفي مكان معين هو بغداد كونها عاصمة العراق والدولة العباسية، اذ ترك أبناء واسط في بغداد اثار مهمة في مجال رواية التاريخ والتأليف في مجاله.

|b Waist city was established in the last quarter of the last century due to many factors, including military, political, economic, natural, human, environmental, and others, as the city became a good administrative center in the Umayyad Caliphate, but this importance decreased in the Abbasid era due to factors which are that Waist followed the Umayyad rule in terms of making the Abbasid authority deal out of good with it. This interaction shows that it is not reflected in science, as Waist cared for scholars to rely on themselves, as this interest encouraged them to travel to Baghdad for the sake of studies. Waist scholars distinguished themselves in Baghdad and presented results in the sciences of history, as they wrote in different fields of history and talked about the history of Baghdad from various Islamic sources. This progress and achievements have reached and are still preserved, printed and unrealized, except for a few, and the other has not been studied and achieved to date
