المستخلص: تتناول هذه الورقة البحثية، مفهوم الأمة في الفكر السياسي المعاصر، وتطوره التاريخي، مع التطورات الفكرية والمعرفية والتقنية والصراعات السياسية، طوال التاريخ الحديث. وبين اختلاف وجهات نظر المفكرين حول المفهوم وتأثر بعضهم في تناول الموضوع بالمنازعات والمصالح الخاصة بأممهم ودولهم. والوقوف على تحديد طبيعة الأمة بالدولة الحديثة. وكذلك اختلاف آراء المفكرين والباحثين بهذا الشأن بين مؤيدي التلازم بين الأمة والدولة، واعتبار وجود الدولة كشرط مسبق لوجود الأمة، وأن الأمة من دون الدولة ليس بوسعها التعبير عن نفسها وانطباق حدودها الثقافة السلطة السياسية. والذين لا يرون هذا التلازم محتجين بتجارب بعض الأمم والدول. تنبع أهمية الدراسة من كونها تعمل على معالجة مفهوم الأمة في الفكر السياسي المعاصر، كما تهدف بتوضيح هذا المفهوم. وكذلك قام الباحث أيضا بتوضيح أن هذه المسألة، أي علاقة الأمة بالدولة مثل مفهوم الأمة خضعت لتقييمات منحازة من قبل بعض المفكرين، في ضوء الظروف الموضوعية لبعض الأمم. وتطرقت الورقة البحثية فيما بعد إلى أهم النظريات الغربية الحديثة بشأن ظهور وتحديد ماهية وعناصر الأمة، والتي تنقسم بصورة رئيسية إلى ما قبل الحداثي والحداثي بينهما من نقاط اختلاف والتقاء. والورقة موزعة عل ثلاثة مباحث: حيث يتناول المبحث الأول: مقدمة عامة حول مفهوم الأمة في الفكر السياسي المعاصر. والمبحث الثاني: مفهوم الأمة وعلاقته بالدولة، والمبحث الثالث: بعض النظريات الأوروبية الحديثة حول الأمة.

This research paper deals with the concept of the nation in modern political thought and its historical development, along with intellectual, cognitive and technical developments and political struggles throughout modern history. And between the different views of thinkers on the concept, and the influence of some of them in dealing with the issue with the conflicts and interests of their nations and countries. And standing on determining the nature of the nation in the modern state. Likewise, the different opinions of thinkers and researchers in this matter between the two modalities of the correlation between the nation and the state, and considering the existence of the state as a precondition for the existence of the nation, and that the nation without the state cannot express itself and the applicability of its cultural borders to political power. Those who do not see this association are protesting the experiences of some nations and states. The researcher also explained that this issue, that is, the relationship of the nation with the state, such as the concept of the nation, was subject to biased assessments by some thinkers, in light of the objective circumstances of some nations. The paper later dealt with the most important modern Western theories regarding the emergence and identification of the identity and elements of the nation, which are mainly divided into pre-modernism and modernism and their points of difference and convergence. The paper is divided into three sections: Where it deals. The first topic: a general introduction to the concept of the nation in recent political thought. The second topic: the concept of the nation and its relationship to the state, and the third topic: some modern European theories about the nation.
