المستخلص: يهدف البحث إلى عقد مقارنة بين تفسيرين مشهورين من كتب التفسير، ألا وهما: جامع البيان في تأويل آي القرآن لابن جرير الطبري، وتفسير القرآن العظيم لابن كثير الدمشقي. وقد تناول البحث الجوانب الفنية والعلمية في المقارنة بينهما، أما الفنية فتتركز في أمور، منها: في تسمية السورة، وفضلها، وتجزئتها، وعرض أسانيدها، ونقدها وكيفية بدئها وانتهائها. وأما العلمية، فتناقش أموراً، منها: في قواعد التفسير والترجيح، وسبب النزول والاستشهاد بالقرآن والسنة والصحابة والتابعين وتابعيهم، ولغة العرب والقراءات، وغيرها. وقد توصل الباحث إلى عدة نتائج، منها: التزام ابن جرير تسمية السورة بما ورد مرفوعاً، (إذا الشمس كورت)، بينما أخذ ابن كثير باجتهاد من قبله بتسمية السورة ب(التكوير)، وتميز ابن كثير بنقد الحديث، وبيان صحته من ضعفه، بناء على علمه بالرجال ونقد المتون، بينما اكتفى ابن جرير بنقل كل الأسانيد التي يعرفها في أي باب، حتى لو كان المتن له أكثر من إسناد، فإنه يذكرها كلها، وتأسيس ابن جرير لقواعد التفسير والترجيح، واعتماده عليها كثيراً في اختيار القول الراجح، بينما كان ابن كثير ناقلاً لقواعد ابن جرير، إما مؤيداً أو مصححاً أو مخالفاً. ولذا كان من توصيات البحث: الاهتمام بالدراسات المقارنية في مناهج المفسرين واستخدام الفوائد الدقيقة في ذلك.

The research aims at comparing the two famous explanations: Comprehensive statement of the Qur'an explanation to Ibn jarir, and the explanation of the great Qur'an to Ibn Katheer. The research dealt with the technical and scientific aspects of the comparison between them. Art focuses on things such as: naming the sura, preferring it, dividing it, presenting its fundamentals, criticizing and referring to others, and how to start and end them. As for the scientific, it discusses things, including: in the rules of interpretation and weighting, and the reason for descent and martyrdom of the Koran and Sunnah and companions and followers and followers, and the language of Arabs and readings, and others. The researcher has reached several conclusions, including: Ibn Jarir's commitment to naming the sura with what was mentioned in the Qur'an, while Ibn Katheer took opinion by naming him the Sura. Ibn Katheer opened with a raised hadith in the virtues of Sura, (The saying in the interpretation of the verse), and the fragmentation of the son of Jarir Sura to six sections; for the large number of Marwaites and inferences, while Ibn Katheer Sura was divided into two sections; to shorten it in novels and interpretation, and based on two main themes in the Sura, namely: the horrors of the Day of Resurrection, And the establishment of Ibn Jarir rules of interpretation and weighting, and adopted a lot in The choice of the most correct saying, while Ibn Katheer was a narrator of Ibn Jarir's rules, is either supportive, corrective or otherwise. Therefore, it was one of the recommendations of the research: interest in comparative studies in the curricula of the explainers, and extract the exact benefits in it.
