تهدف هذه الدراسة لمعرفة أثر الهواتف الرقمية المحمولة على طلاب الجامعات، وتمثلت مشكلة الدراسة في سؤال رئيسي مهم وهو: ما هو الأثر الإيجابي والسلبي للهواتف المحمولة على طلاب الجامعات؟ وتنبع أهمية هذه الدراسة من أهمية الهواتف الذكية بالنسبة للطلاب ومدى تأثرهم بها أكاديمياً واجتماعياً ونفسيا، وهدفت هذه الدراسة إلى التعرف علي مدى اهتمام الطلاب ببرامج وتطبيقات الهواتف الرقمية في ظل ثورة الاتصال والمعلومات، كما هدفت الدراسة لمعرفة مدى استفادة الطلاب من هذه التقنيات الحديثة، استخدم الباحث المنهج التاريخي وذلك بعرض الدراسات السابقة والاطلاع علي الكتب والمراجع العلمية ذات الصلة بموضوع الدراسة، أيضا اتبعت الدراسة منهج المسح الميداني المتمثل في استخدام استمارة الاستبيان وجمع المعلومات من المبحوثين، كما استخدمت الاختبارات الإحصائية المناسبة في عملية التحليل، توصلت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج أهمها: أن الهاتف الرقمي أسهم بصورة كبيرة في زيادة الثقافة المعلوماتية لطلاب الجامعات، أيضاً من أهم النتائج أن الهاتف الرقمي المحمول يمكن استخدامه كمكتبة إلكترونية متحركة، ومن أهم التوصيات: ضرورة إدخال خدمات الهاتف الرقمي وربطها بالمكتبات الجامعية ليستطيع الطالب استخدام المكتبة الإلكترونية في أي وقت، أيضاً من أهم التوصيات ضرورة تدريس تطبيقات الهواتف الرقمية ضمن مناهج كليات الإعلام لاستخدامها في عمليات التعليم الإلكتروني.
This study aims at finding out the impact of smart phones on the university students, the problem of this study represented in a key question: what are the positive and negative impacts of the mobile phones on university students? The significance of this study comes from the importance of smart phones for students and to what extent they are affected academically, socially and psychologically. The study aims at identifying the students' interest in programs and applications of smart phones under the umbrella of communication and information revolution as well as identifying the students' benefit from these modern technologies. The researcher used historical method via presenting previous studies and reviewing the books and scientific references related to the subject of the study, also the study adopts the survey method, represented in the questionnaire and the collection of data from the study population, as well as using appropriate statistic test in analysis process, the study comes up with several results, such as: smart phone has significantly contributed to the increase in the information culture of university students, also one of the most important results that the smart phone can be used as a mobile electronic library. The study has number of recommendations and the most important ones are: the necessity of introduce digital telephone services and connect them to university libraries so that the student can use the electronic library at any time, also one of the most important recommendations is the need to teach smart phones' applications within the curriculum of communication and information colleges for use in the processes of e-education.
