المستخلص: هدفت الدراسة إلى فك الارتباط بين مفهوم السياسة العالمية المعاصرة ومفهوم السياسة الدولية، وإظهار مكانة الدولة القومية المعاصرة في عالم العلاقات عبر- الوطنية الذي أنشأته الفواعل العالمية الجديدة. ولتحقيق ذلك، استعانت الدراسة بالمنهج الوصفي، والمنهج الكلاني، إلى أن أظهرت النتائج أن مفهوم السياسة العالمية المعاصرة غير مرادف لمفهوم السياسة الدولية، بحيث تعتبر السياسة الدولية جزءا من السياسة العالمية. كما تبين أن السمة الرئيسية للسياسة العالمية المعاصرة أنها متعددة الأقطاب لتعدد الأطراف الفاعلة، وأظهرت النتائج أن هناك استمرارية في حضور الدولة القومية في السياسة العالمية المعاصرة، إلا أن هذا الحضور ذو أدوار مختلفة عما كانت عليه في الماضي، وأن ذلك الحضور والدور نسبيان ويختلفان من مسألة إلى أخرى لمستوى حضور الفواعل الجديدة في تلك المسائل. وعلى ضوء نتائجها، صاغت الدراسة عددا من التوصيات، منها أنه يتوجب عند دراسة مكانة الدولة القومية في السياسة العالمية المعاصرة وضع معايير للتفرقة في تلك المكانة تبعا لطبيعة السياسة محل حضور الدول؛ فيما إذا كانت سياسة دولية أم عالمية، ولطبيعة الدول؛ فيما إذا كانت قوية أم ضعيفة، ولطبيعة الفواعل الجديدة؛ فيما إذا كانت شرعية أم غير شرعية، أو من حيث مجال نشاطها.

The aim of this study was to decouple the world politics concept from international politics concept and to demonstrate the position of the contemporary nation state in the world of relations through the transnational set- up by the new global actors. To achieve that, the study used the descriptive and the holistic methods and the results showed that the contemporary world politics concept is not a synonym to the international politics concept, by virtue of which the international politics are to be deemed part of the world politics. The main feature of the contemporary world politics is its multi-polarity as a result of the number of actors. The result also showed that there is continuity in the presence of the nation state in the contemporary world politics; this presence, however, has roles different from what they were before. The presence and role of the nation state are relative, differing from issue to issue, depending on the level of the presence of the new actors and their roles in those issues. The study made some recommendations in light of its findings; including that when examining the nation state position in the contemporary world politics, it's necessary to establish criteria to differentiate in that position, depending on the nature of the politics where the presence of states is; whether it is international politics or world politics. As well as depending on the state's nature; whether it is strong or weak and depending on the nature of the new actors; whether they are legal or illegal or in terms of their areas of activity.
