المستخلص: Our study aims to show the importance of open innovation practices within the pharmaceutical industry and shed light on the impact of these practices on the performance of pharmaceutical companies. At first we review the concept of open innovation, and then we discuss the characteristics of innovation in the pharmaceutical industry, focusing on the different forms of collaboration and types of strategic alliances that characterize the sector. To better understand the previous concepts, we treat the case of the Industrial Pharmaceutical Group SAIDAL specialized in the production and marketing of generic medicines, being known by its industrial and economic weight at the national level and by the variety of practices of the open innovation adopted in the last years such as: joint ventures, contract manufacturing agreements and licensing agreements. Noting that these practices have produced contrasts and mixed effects that did not allow achieving the results expected by the company.

Notre étude vise à montrer l’importance des pratiques d’innovation ouverte au sein de l’industrie pharmaceutique et mettre la lumière sur l’impact de ces pratiques sur la performance des laboratoires pharmaceutiques. Au début nous passons en revue le concept d’innovation ouverte, en suite nous abordons les caractéristiques de l’innovation dans l’industrie pharmaceutique, tout en mettant l’accent sur les différentes formes de collaboration et les types d’alliances stratégiques qui caractérise le secteur. Pour mieux cerner les concepts précédents, nous traitons le cas du Groupe Industriel Pharmaceutique SAIDAL spécialisé dans la production et la commercialisation des médicaments génériques, étant connu par son poids industriel et économique au niveau national et par la variété des pratiques d’innovation ouverte adoptées dans les dernières années, telles que : les joint-ventures les contrats de façonnage et les contrats de licence. Notant que ces pratiques ont produit des effets contrastés et mitigés n’ayant pas permis d’atteindre les résultats prévus par l’entreprise.
