يهدف البحث إلى وضع تصور مقترح يمكن من خلاله تحقيق التوافق الوطني بين أفراد المجتمع المصري وذلك من أجل العيش بسلام داخل المجتمع على خلاف المذاهب المتعددة والطبقيات الموجودة به وكذلك العمل على تكوين نسيج متكامل ومترابط بين فئات المجتمع المختلفة. وتوصل الباحث في دراسته لنتائج عدة منها أن نشر ثقافة الاختلاف واحدة من المهمات الرئيسة للخطباء في المساجد فإذا كان بعضهم جادين في وقف مسلسل العنف والقتل فهذا لا يكون إلا بالدعوة إلى نشر ثقافة الاختلاف، والدعوة إلى الحوار مع الآخرين ورفض استخدام القوة لفرض الأفكار أو الرؤى على الآخرين، فثقافة الاختلاف تمثل الأرضية لقيام وطن لجميع أبنائه وهو وسيلة للعيش المشترك رغم الاختلاف المذهبي والطائفي والفكري والعرقي كما نشاهد الآن في العديد من الأمم المتقدمة في العالم، لذلك يمكن القول بأن ثقافة الاختلاف هي الأساس لنشأة مواطن صالح وهي الأساس لبناء الأوطان وهي الأساس لحدوث توافق وطني. ضرورة تفعيل دور الأسرة في تربية الأبناء على ثقافة الاختلاف وذلك من خلال تربيتهم على الإيمان بالله تعالى منذ الطفولة، وكذلك ضرورة تفعيل دور المدرسة والجامعة ووسائل الإعلام في تربية الأبناء على ثقافة قبول الآخر.
