After the invasion of Miliana, colonial troops headed west to settle in El Asnam on 1843, making them a military base above ruins of the Romanian city due to its strategic location and near Tennes city. After embarking on paving the way between the two regions, it was the reaction of the region’s population in the foothills and mountain of Dahra controlled by Cherif Ben Abdellah (Boumaaza). After the failure of the French armies to achieve military victory, began targeting property (cut fruit trees, burning homes and looting of crops and popular tasc burdens). After all this fails resorted to shock the intimidation and murder barbaric through Beni Sbih (Sobha) on 1844 at the hands of colonel Cavaignac and children on Ouled Riah on 1845 on hand of colonel Pelissier, then we have the third one in sbih on the hand on colonel saint Arnaud on august 1845. In this inhuman and bad way colonial forces paved the way for its being in the region of the middle of the Chlef valley."
