يلاحظ الباحث المتخصص في الفلسفة الإسلامية وتاريخها أن هنالك فلاسفة ومفكرين إسلاميين كبار قد ركز الباحثون كثيرا في دراستهم، بحيث متى ما ذكرت الفلسفة الإسلامية نجد أن أسماء أشهر الفلاسفة المسلمين حاضرة بوضوح في الذهن، من أمثال الكندي والفارابي وابن سينا وابن باجة وابن طفيل وابن رشد وغيرهم من الفلاسفة والمفكرين المسلمين، إلى حد قد وصل بفهم بعض دارسي هذا المجال بالقول بأن الفكر الفلسفي الإسلامي ما هو إلا هذه الأسماء بالتحديد، ولم يخرج لنا التراث الإسلامي غيرهم من المفكرين، وهذا القول بالنسبة إلى المتخصصين في تاريخ الفكر الفلسفي الإسلامي فيه ابتعاد كبير عن الموضوعية، يرجع سببه في الغالب إلى قلة الاطلاع على التراث الفلسفي الإسلامي وما فيه من إيداع، ومن هنا يمكننا القول بأن خلاصة هذا البحث هي محاولة التعريف بشخصية فلسفية إسلامية من الفكر الفلسفي الإسلامي التي لم يسلط الضوء عليها، والذي بعد البحث والتدقيق والمراجعة وقع اختيارنا عليه وهو القاضي سعيد القمي، حيث وجدنا أن هذا المفكر الإسلامي وإن كانت له مكانة مميزة في الحقبة الزمنية التي عاش فيها إلا إن الضوء قد تسلط وتركز على مؤسس المدرسة الفكرية التي ينتمي إليها القاضي سعيد القمي، ونقصد بذلك الملا صدر الشيرازي مؤسس ما يسمى بمدرسة الحكمة المتعالية في الفلسفة، فإن القاضي سعيد القمي وإن كان ينتمي إلى هذه المدرسة من الناحية الفكرية، فإننا نجد أنه قد أغفل حقه من البحث بالرغم من مؤلفاته العديدة وأفكاره ومنهجه الذي يختلف فيه كثيرا مع مدرسة الحكمة المتعالية سواء في الفلسفة أو علم الكلام أو العرفان. وعليه كان هذا البحث يتركز في التعريف بهذا المفكر وبمكانته العلمية ومؤلفاته العديدة والقيمة، وكذلك التعرف على المنابع الفكرية التي استمد منها فكره ومنهجه.
